my game that I am modelling in Maya and then putting into unity is set in a steam-punk style street and there for I require a couple of props to help give this affect. I have focused my attention on the two main props in the map. what makes them the main props is that these are the items that you effect and change in the game to move on. the idea is that you are in a dark abandoned foggy street. all the power is gone and you need to turn on the power to turn on the Street lights. the street lights are powered by generators of which there are 3 each generator powers four lights ( 2 on each side ) and the street will light up as you pull the lever on each of these generators. this will require some coding obviously and I hope to improve at this over the next week so I have the level needed to achieve my aims. however I have been working on these two props in Maya (Street Light and Generator)
First off I worked on the Street Light. I obviously wanted it to fit ion with the steam-punk look but also not to over complicate it as I am only building the first stage of the game.

STREET LIGHT SIDE SILHOUETTE. |
This is obviously the side profile of the Street Light.

STREET LIGHT FRONT SILHOUETTE. |
And this is the front Silhouette.

GAME STREET LIGHT 2. |
I'm happy with this design and think it shows the steam-punk theme.
I then started working on the generator. The generator needs to incorporate a lever that I can move in the game which will turn the lights on. this means it must be to scale and separate from the parts of the generator that don't moved. also it means that the point where it moves must be hidden.

GAME GENERATOR 2. |
This is my final design, again I am happy with it and it shows the steam-punk theme. when in a higher poly form I will make the rings gears and have them move and turn as you pull the lever. for now though at my stage and the stage the game will be made to the lever moving will suffice.
